FIS1011 ETHICS AND SCIENCE (Dr. Chew)
Responsible behaviour and ethical conduct are essential attributes of people who work in the area of science. Accidents due to irresponsibility and misconduct can cause substantial economic and human losses. Hence, increasing the awareness of students to their social responsibilities and the ramifications of irresponsible behaviour and ethical misconduct is part and parcel of preparing them for higher education in science. The course covers an introduction to ethics and science, ethical concepts and theories, science and its norms, research ethics, the science of ethics, transition from ethics to politics and policy, science and ideational culture, and ethics and engineering.
PHYSICS II FIS3062
At the end of the semester, students will be able to:
1. Explain the fundamental theories and concepts of physics at advance level(C2, A3)
2. Solve problems and questions related to physics (C3)
3. Perform simple experiment in physics by following proper instructions (A2,P3)PHYSICS 1 FIS2061
At the end of the semester, students will be able to:
1. Explain the fundamental theories and concepts of physics (C2, A3)
2. Solve problems and questions related to physics (C3)
3. Perform simple experiment in physics by following proper instructions (A2,P3)FIS3052 Chemistry II
The course is designed to achieve the Programme Aims by helping students comprehend the basic principles of chemistry via participation in co-operative practical lessons, and classroom experiences in order to develop their observation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
FIS2051 CHEMISTRY I (Dr. Chew)
Chemistry and its applications are omnipresent in our daily life. It is one of the subjects which a student is required to master before embarking on any programme in the area of science. Therefore, a strong foundation in chemistry is necessary for students who aspire to study science related programmes at the bachelor’s level.
PHYSICS I FIS2061 (Subra)
Introduction to Physics. Covers the basics fundamental of the subject.
General Physics (Part 1) for MBT
Physics plays an important role in all sciences and engineering. This course provides the students fundamental knowledge and abilities for their further studies.
FIS2061
To familiarise students with the basic principles and applications of physics
To train students on the proper ways of conducting laboratory experiments in physicsAt the end of the semester, students will be able to:
1. Explain the fundamental theories and concepts of physics
2. Solve problems and questions related to physics
Perform simple experiment in physics by following proper instructions
