Study Skills_Apr 2020 (Dr. Lee)
Study skills or some may prefer to call it the academic skills are as equally important as to learning other courses. In general, study skills are approaches applied to learning. They are skills which tackle the process of organizing and taking in new information, retaining information, or dealing with assessments. As a student, knowing study skills will enhance your studies and improve your overall academic achievement.
Study skills are not just for students. They are transferable skills, which mean you will take them with you beyond your education into new contexts. Managerial functions such as planning, organising, leading and controlling an organisation require skills like time management, prioritising, learning how to analyse, problem solving and self-discipline. Study skills relate closely to the type of skills that employers look for.
