SEM111 Principles of Economics 2020/09
This course is a guide to economic literacy and the global economy. It begins with an introduction to supply and demand as well as the basic forces that determine an equilibrium in a market economy. Secondly, it introduces a framework about consumer and firm behaviour. The final section provides an introduction to macroeconomics topics. Students will be required to understand basic theory and solve basic problems of the real economy.
SEM107 Microeconomics 2021/04
1.0 Module INTRODUCTION
Synopsis: This course covers the basic economics problem, economic systems, demand and supply, theory of production and market structure. By the end of this course, students will have a strong grasp on the major issues microeconomists’ face, including: consumer and producer behavior, the nature of supply and demand, the different kinds of markets and how they function, and the welfare outcomes of consumers and producers. Students also explore how these formal principles and concepts apply to real-world issues.
2.0 Module AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
In this course, we aim;
- To exposed students to the basic theories and concepts of microeconomics.
- To provide students with real-world examples related to microeconomics.
- To exposed and facilitate the important application of economic decisions as well as the effects of government policies intervention.
SEM107 Microeconomics (IEP Students ) 2020/09
This is the first of a 2-parts course that is an integral component to the programme. It is designed to provide students with a key set of analytical tools that can be applied to real-world economic issues, such as decisions made by consumers and firms, and the effect of government policies in the marketplace. Students will learn how to apply Microeconomics principles to comprehend and evaluate arguments made in public policy debates. SEM107 Microeconomics is the introductory course in economic theory and applications. It is designed to introduce undergraduate students to the fundamental concepts of microeconomics. It deals with the economic behaviour of consumers and firms, covering analysis of demand and supply of goods, services, and resources within an economy. The objective of the course is to apply principles of economic analysis to the day-to-day decision-making of individuals and households (consumers), different types of firms, market, and government.
SEM208 Research Methodology 2020/09
This course is to provide the students with a framework for conducting research in a systematic manner in all Quantitative and Qualitative research in all areas of economics, finance, and international business. It will introduce the various research methods and students wIll be exposed to practical experience in data collection and data analysis. It is also designed for students to learn the art of presenting research ideas and findings in an informative way.

Commercial Law 2020/09
This course aims to:
1. Enable students to analyze the legal constraints on business.
2. Describe the basic legal structures that constitute businesses and the law that regulates businesses and the business environment.
3. Recognise socio-economic issues related to commerce and identify the relevant principles of law and apply them to resolve the different views concerning these.
