This course introduces about the drugs, drug use and misuse from a variety of perspectives such as behavioral, pharmacological, historical, social, legal, and clinical which will help students to connect and gives awareness. In this course, students will review the different types of drugs, drug-related mortalities, drug abuse, drug toxicity, factors that cause drug addiction and their preventive measure. We will also analyze and evaluate the role of media source of drug information. Students can build their critical thinking skills to study topics such as alcohol advertising, prescription drugs and the presentation of cigarette smoking in films. This course will examine the controversies surrounding a growing number of people in prison for drug-related offenses.
