This module covers both the business and computing issues when developing e-Commerce systems. The topics focus on the design, analysis and implementation of an e-Commerce system using common web practices, system analysis and design methodologies. The main topic areas of interest are database design and web development which encapsulate the different database development strategies, web 2.0 development methods and standards in e-Commerce. Students will be able to understand the importance of e-commerce systems architecture, design and implementation as well as other related areas which are relevant to this organization. The aim of this module is to developed understanding and skills in e-Commerce system which will enable sales and marketing of products and services online. This system must be reliable, secure, re-scalable, and user friendly.

This course takes students through the business’ need to access and analyze data from multiple data source. The goal of this course is to give students a solid understanding of the opportunities, techniques and critical challenges in using data mining and predictive modeling in a business setting. This course will provide a hands-on experience using a variety of real-world datasets. The course will pay special attention to how students can best understand and translate business challenges into data mining problems. So that they can develop that ability to analyse problems more efficiently.  The topics will cover the major issues involved in knowledge discovery and decision making as well as core technical concepts and machine learning methods. The discussion of these more technical aspects will be carried out without getting into the mathematical underpinnings. Using big data analytics and mining, students are able to extract business insight from data for firms to guide them to make decisions and solve business problems. The key concepts and methods discussed in this course are not specific to any piece of software.

This course explains the formal analysis of entrepreneurship in theory and practice leading on to a consideration of creativity of doing business. It introduces students to what it means to be an entrepreneur, the fundamental tools of the trade and the role of entrepreneurship both as it has been and as it currently is. Students will be introduced to the theoretical concepts of entrepreneurial venture creation in a range of contexts.The course concludes with the practical application of these theories and concepts in business planning and business concept presentation.
