This course covers the basic accounting and book-keeping concepts and the financial reporting procedures such as accounting equation, double entry system, journal, ledger and the preparation of financial statements.
The course covers the fundamental knowledge of the financial system in Malaysia and the concepts of financial decision-making processes which encompass various tools and techniques of finance such as the ratio analysis, the time value of money, bonds and stock valuation, the cost of capital and capital budgeting.

Having an awareness of the social traditions and taboos is a valuable trait expected of university-trained workers particularly those with a background in the arts and social sciences. Therefore, it is important for students who are preparing to pursue higher education in the fields of arts and social sciences to have some fundamental knowledge of the culture, organisation and functions of a society.
