This is a core courses for Chemical Engineering students. A continuation from course Chemical Engineering Laboratory I.
This course introduces the fundamental principles of organic chemistry with emphasis on the structure, nomenclature, properties, and reactivity of organic compounds. Students will learn to apply the basic concepts of classification and nomenclature to identify common functional groups in organic molecules. The course further develops the ability to relate molecular structure, stereochemistry, and functional groups to the physical and chemical properties, as well as the reactivity patterns, of organic compounds. In addition, students will analyze the types of organic reactions and their mechanisms, providing a foundation for understanding transformations and applications of organic chemistry in real-world and engineering contexts.
This course provides the fundamental principles and practice of analytical chemistry. It covers topics such as data analysis, sampling, sample preparation, and quantitative analysis techniques.
This course covers nine major areas of petroleum refining: petroleum composition and physicochemical properties, petroleum analysis, crude oil distillation, thermal processing, catalytic cracking, catalytic hydrogenation, hydrocracking, catalytic reforming, and sustainable strategies for future petroleum refineries.
This course will provide fundamental knowledge on three modes of heat transfer, heat transfer correlations and application.
This course gives students to have basic idea on classifying materials (e.g. nanomaterials, metals, alloys, ceramics and polymers) according to the structure, properties, characteristics and processing of materials toward diverse applications.
The course covers the various reactors design, the fundamentals of chemical reaction engineering principles and applications in process development. It teaches the evaluation of reaction rates from mechanisms and experimental data, quantification of pertinent transport effects and application to reactor design.
The course is the second stage of the final year research-oriented project. The course aims to enhance students research capabilities in the process of conducting experiments or simulation works, performing research project independently, writing the research report and presenting the research findings.
