This course aims to expose students to marine environmental chemistry related industrial practices in preparing them for entering job market after graduation.
This course provides students opportunity to practise their skills and knowledge acquired in the first three years of studies in relevant industries.
Students are required to identify a company/ organisation/ institution / corporate to where they will be attached for industrial training for a duration of 8 weeks. The business nature of the selected location should be relevant to their area of studies. Students may be placed by the School shall there is no personal interests in a particular organisation.
Students will be required to
(1) write a diary related to their work in a provided logbook which is to be verified by their superiors at the industrial training location.
(2) prepare and submit an industrial training report (summary of industrial reports)
(3) make a presentation
(4) evaluated by Academic Supervisors
Students’ academic supervisors shall visit the students at the industrial-training location to monitor the progress and make sure of the well-being of the students.
(5) evaluated by Workplace Supervisors
Students are required to submit a performance evaluation form which is to be filled by the supervisors at the industrial-training location upon completion of industrial training. The performance evaluation will cover the following criteria:
a. Punctuality
b. Attitude at work
c. Knowledge
d. Willingness to learn
e. Interpersonal skill
