Marine Animal Biology copy 1
As a core course, this course presents what marine invertebrates and vertebrates (especially on fish) are, how they are classified, how each is similar and different and how each is connected to human being.
Marine Ecology copy 1
As a common core course to all students on marine science discipline, it introduces the basic concepts of marine ecology, as well as the structure, function and process of marine ecosystems, which are the foundation of marine biodiversity conservation and marine ecosystem management.
MBT207 Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Laboratory 2019/04
As a corequisite with Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, it trains students to utilize the acquired knowledge and skills in applied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology fields.
MBT310 Typical Marine Ecosystems: Mangrove, Coral Reef and Sea Grasses 2019/04
As a major elective course, this course introduces the most important and typical marine ecosystems: mangrove ecosystem, coral reef ecosystem and seagrasses ecosystem. The ecological and economic characteristics and related conservation knowledge of them will be covered in this course.
MBT205 Marine Ecology Laboratory 2019/04
As a corequisite with Marine Ecology, it trains students to utilize the
acquired knowledge and skills in applied Marine Ecology fields.
MBT307 Field Experience in Marine Sciences 2019/04
As a major core course, the course provides students majored in Marine Biology and Biotechnology a precious hand-on experience in Marine Sciences. Through lectures, discussions of the scientific primary literature and field trips, student will become familiar with tropical marine habitats and organisms unlike those available for study on campus and also be able to conduct marine field investigation.
FSC108 Multivariable Calculus 2019/04
This course introduces students to infinite series, multivariable
calculus and vector calculus. Topics covered include: Infinite series and
convergence test, Taylor series and approximation, parametric equations and
polar coordinates, geometry of space, vector functions, partial derivatives,
application of partial derivatives, maxima and minima, multiple integrals,
iterated integrals, applications of multiple integrals, line and surface
integrals, Green’s Theorem, Gauss’s Divergence Theorem and Stokes’s Theorem, Fourier
series.
MBT306 Cellular and Developmental Biology Laboratory 2019/02
Descriptive Oceanography
It is basic level course to understand the physical properties of marine, analysis methods and measurements, regional oceanography. An understanding of the concepts of physical oceanography is often necessary to fully appreciate and understand processes in the other oceanographic disciplines, marine biology, chemical oceanography, and marine geology.
